Abstract (German):Die Siebenbürger Sachsen sind eine deutschsprachige Minderheit aus Rumänien. Ihre Tracht und ihre Bräuche sind lebendig geblieben und zeugen von Würde und Stolz. Die Sachsen sprechen die siebenbürgisch-sächsische Mundart, welche sich vom Hochdeutschen durch Aussprache und Schreibweise stark unterscheidet. Bekannte Mundartdichter sind Schuster Dutz, Otto Piringer und Helene Platz. (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):The Saxons of Transylvania are a German speaking minority in Romania. Their traditional costume and customs have been kept alive and represent a proof of their dignity and pride. Saxons speak the Saxon dialect, which is very different from the literary German language in terms of pronunciation and spelling. Famous Saxon writers are Schuster Dutz, Otto Piringer and Helene Platz. (DIPF/Orig.)
