Abstract (English):The author analyzes the adoption and application of the concepts of eugenics and of the "psychology of race" in educational sciences during the Third Reich. Particular emphasis is placed on educational psychology and sociology. It is shown that the concept of race was not merely ideologically stilted, without relevance to educational theory and research, but rather that it was the centre of diverse efforts to create a comprehensive academic paradigm which would bridge the gap between natural and social sciences as well as the humanities. This paradigm had both legitimizing and socio-technological dimensions; its aim was to create a utopian society which differentiated functionally between race, genetic health and achievement potential. This was to be attained by means of a "Nordic school" and by selection according to race and species, health and achievement. (DIPF/Orig.)
