(DIPF/ Orig.)
Abstract (English):Foster-families were both supervised a group and given family therapeutic counselling. Combining these two methods proved to be meaningful and necessary since the self-help group organized by the foster-parents had tacitly „agreed" to regard the foster-children's maladjustment as their joint problem This problem definition was the bond uniting the group and at the same time the reason why they failed to cope with the problems caused by the children as well as the school, the youth welfare office and other institutions The self-help group was not able to work constructively until the families had learned to cope with the structural problems existing in their families (such as weak limits between the generations, disturbed couple dyad etc ). Interactions in the families, the self-help group and with important institutions (school, youth welfare office etc) then improved. The symptoms of the „maladjusted" children could in some cases be reduced drastically. (DIPF/ Orig.)
