(DIPF/Autor)
Abstract (English):The inclusion of learners with special needs in regular classes is followed by changes for regular as well as special education teachers. Fields of work and responsibilities are transformed or arise newly, and there is an increasing need for collaboration in multi-functional teams. Questions about crucial characteristics and activities of inclusive schools as learning environments are widely discussed. Until recently, this discourse has mainly been fuelled from a normative perspective. Empirical studies are scarce, but there is agreement about the need for clarification of roles and responsibilities. With this contribution, we describe perceptions of regular and special education teachers about their responsibilities for activities in three work fields of inclusive schools (diagnostics, fostering student learning, cooperation with parents). Regular teachers (N = 96) and two groups of special education teachers (N = 30; N = 95) have been queried with an online tool. Participants were asked to report, to what extent they are (jointly) responsible for specific activities in their workplace, and what they would wish. This study is part of a descriptive multi-method study which focuses on activities and role perceptions of special education and regular teachers in inclusive primary schools in Canton Thurgau, Switzerland. Results show discrepancies as well as agreement for specific activities between the perceptions from (a) the two professional perspectives and (b) for their perceptions of the current and ideal situation. Perceptions of the ideal are often closer than those of the current situation. This can be interpreted as an origin for the negotiation of a collaborative practice of inclusive teaching. (DIPF/Autor)
