(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):Risk-taking and deviant behaviours are next to intense mood shiftings a common feature of adolescence, but not other periods of life. These observations are related to recent findings of the maturing brain during these years. The main focus is thereby put on the neural substrate of emotion and the regulation of emotional processes. In this context, risk-taking behaviour and sensation-seeking can be taken as opportunity to learn. While becoming a self-governed grown-up, it is an important step to realize and respect common standards of behaviour and to develop own standards. (DIPF/Orig.)
