Abstract (English): | The author inquires into the question of the relationship between case description and the process of research. Against the background of Kuhn's theory of paradigm and by drawing on a published example of a psycho-analytic-pedagogical case, it is shown that case descriptions can (a) be treated from the perspective of normal science, presupposing largely shared paradigmatic suppositions, (b) manifest "anomalies", or (c) be designed as typical models which, in combination with exemplary problem-solving, are meant to inspire or even to urge the members of a scientific community to understand and to treat similar problems of individual cases analogously to these typical models.
