(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):During the last years, a number of positive findings concerning the perceptive, discriminative, and interactive abilities of a newborn have caused a thorough change in the general picture of the infant. It is the author's thesis that this leads to the dismissal of a concept of the infant mainly determined by Freud, namely that of the newborn driven by instinct who, during the first months of his life, can only perceive his inner world. Recent research results show that the child, from his birth onward, actively processes reality. However, this already interacting child is all the more dependent on (parental) resonance. (DIPF/Orig.)
