Abstract (English):The essay focusses on the issue of rhetoric patterns and symbolic strategies in narratives of religious identities. With the help of an interview with a female evangelical Christian symbolic, narrative, poetic and rhetoric patterns are illustrated. It then becomes obvious that the evangelical rhetoric serves as a strategy to organize and present experience. The rhetoric emphasizes renunciation and limitation and can be characterized as a affective-kognitive form of regression. Nevertheless, this pattern of renunciation helps to stabilize identities.
