Abstract (English): | The author reconstructs the emergence and establishment of an independent pedagogical discourse on reading which has its roots in the critique of the "reading mania" at the turn of the eighteenth century. The strategy of a pedagogization of reading furthered by the public school in the "century of education" established a discourse among teachers mainly, vacillating between the ideals of methodological perfectionism, on the one hand, and of "logical reading", on the other, in which the passivity of the reader was systematically trained. It was only with the discovery of the constructive role of the reader in our time that the reading-pedagogical discourse could free itself from the sway of the reading-mania critique, yet so far without having a theory about what we do when we read.
