Abstract (German):Das Entwicklungsprogramm für Unterricht und Lernqualität (E.U.LE.) ist als berufsbegleitende dreijährige Fortbildung für Lehrpersonen aller Fachrichtungen und Schularten im Jahr 2004 in Thüringen/Deutschland eingerichtet worden.
Abstract (English):The development programme for teaching and learning (E.U.L.E.) was established in 2004 as a three-year long professional training for in service-teachers of all disciplines and school-types in Thüringen /Germany. The programme aims to further the development of teaching methods which encourage school-teachers to adjust their interaction routines and their choreography of instruction methods according to the understanding of their learners. This means quintessentially the ability to develop a professionally controlled change of perspective, an «understanding of second order», which in addition to one’s own understanding incorporates the understanding of the learners. The programme, which so far has trained over 100 teachers, is evaluated both formatively and summatively. The evaluation results show that the participating teachers are continually modifying their teaching methods according to the processes of understanding. Since 2008, the programme has been offered to other areas around Thüringen.
