(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):Physics is a relatively unpopular subject for many secondary school students, particularly for female students. Surveys have shown that this is an international problem. In the Federal Republic of Germany a broad-based study of students' interests in physics and technology is being conducted. The study covers grades 5 to 10 (11 to 16year-old students) and is designed to provide information on the characteristics of students' interests, how they develop and how they change as a result of instruction. Initial results indicate, among other things, that those topics and approaches (contexts and activities) which students rate as particularly interesting are relatively rarely included in physics instruction whereas those which the students rate as least interesting are over-represented. A number of conclusions regarding instruction which rouses interest and is suitable for specific age-groups may already be drawn from the results available to date. (DIPF/Orig.)
