(DIPF/Orig.) |
Abstract (English): | The author hypothesizes that social sciences can provide a framework for the understanding of interactions within the classroom. This is illustrated by analyzing a short classroom discussion on the basis of the theory of moral-cognitive development (Kohlberg) . This analysis does not only further an overall understanding, it also makes possible an inter-subjective discussion of the implications and aspects of the interactions, such as the manner in which they are produced, their implications for the development of the students, the kind of every-day knowledge they incorporate, or the social factors which might have influenced the discussion. With reference to Oevermann, this procedure of "application" or "understanding" is considered a basic element of socializing interaction. The method is neither empirical (as in the research of Kohlberg) nor that of objective hermeneutics (as in the research of Oevermann), rather, it is one of practical hermeneutics - sociological theories are used as strategies that allow to understand one's actions while acting. This result leads to a critique of Oevermann's method of objective hermeneutics. (DIPF/Orig.) |
