Abstract (German):Forschungsmethode: biographische Methode, empirisch, Sekundaeranalyse. Abstract (English):In their essay on secondary and higher education for girls in Württemberg from 1904 up to 1934, the authors point out the inconsistency inherent in the promotion of women during that epoch: on the one hand, women are being promoted both at school and during their studies, on the other hand, it is rendered difficult for university-trained women to enter the professions. Thus you have personal and individual promotion on the one side and structural discrimination on the other. The memoirs of women who studied at that time show that they hardly noticed these structural discriminations and accepted them when planning their professional careers, because the feeling of gratitude for the promotion received was very strong and performance orientation seemed to justify the opportunity to study. The differentiation of the women's question into a question of education and a question of professional careers leads to a necessary revision of some of the current clichés concerning the educational barrier for women at the time of the German Empire and the Weimar Republic.
