(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):This contribution investigates which structural dimensions underlie future teachers' pedagogical knowledge. With the increasing orientation towards standards and competencies in teacher education future teachers are challenged by the task to acquire profession-related pedagogical knowledge. However, their opportunities to learn are predominantly structured by a system of scientific disciplines. Against this background, it is assumed that future teachers acquire knowledge within educational subdisciplines rather than being oriented towards professional tasks across educational subdisciplines. Assumptions on the structure of future teachers' knowledge oriented to discipline and profession are modelled with a standardized achievement test measuring pedagogical knowledge of future teachers. A sample of 802 future teachers is used. The results show that the pedagogical knowledge of future teachers can be structured around educational subdisciplines. However, the correspondent model is not superior to a model structuring the pedagogical knowledge around professional tasks. Implications for the educational component of teacher education are discussed. (DIPF/Orig.)
