(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):The development of moral judgment on bioethical issues has become an important part of biology lessons since the German educational standards were defined in 2004. Apart from the competences of factual knowledge, biological skills and communication, teachers are asked to enhance the students' competence of moral judgment. Students should be able to reflect bioethical issues on the factual and on the value level to develop a reasoned opinion. But so far, no empirically results are available how teachers structure their lessons to enhance this competence. This paper first gives an overview about an empirically differentiated structure model of moral judgment. Secondly it describes two studies: One study focuses on the collection of biology teachers' pedagogical content knowledge about enhancing moral judgment. Another study deals with the teachers' diagnostic competences on students' moral judgment. The methodology of these qualitatively oriented studies is described in detail and the results as well as conclusions for teaching are presented. (DIPF/Orig.)
