Abstract (English):Following the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities there is the need to develop inclusive schools throughout Germany. This is linked to intensified calls for multiprofessional teams. Between professionalization and deprofessionalization, this challenges teachers to maintain their distinct professional identity and develop collaboration extending beyond a mere addition of individual professional competencies. Focussing on collaboration between general and special education teachers, this paper refers to an objective-hermeneutic reconstruction of structural aspects essential for the professional identity of one special education teacher who works in an integrated comprehensive school. Subsequently, structural problems of developing multiprofessional teams are discussed with respect to special educators' challenge to define their roles in the context of inclusive school development.
