(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):The article deals with factors impacting writing at middle school. An analysis of text production was done by means of a combination of sociological genre model and a pedagogical input-output-model of lesson effectiveness. This new model was empirically reassessed in the project IMOSS (Indicator Model of School Writing). Pupils were tested in writing and asked about the reasons for their choice of task. Both aspects were related to the writing performance. The multi-facets-IRTscaling for standardized rater and task difficulty effects allows the marking of the pupil’s achievement. Teachers, pupils and their parents were asked about different aspects of writing. So effects of various socializations instances could be specified: Pupils’ choice of task depends on different motives linked to writing ability. On individual level predictors for text quality are the text length and a positive attitude towards writing. School indicators, personal attitudes and experiences are additional interacting factors allowing a more nuanced explanation of the writing performance. The findings result in new approaches to teaching of writing, which participants in the IMOSS-project experienced as innovative.
