| Abstract (German): | Grundlegend für den Beitrag ist die Annahme, dass moralische Erwartungen und Bewertungen den Beruf der Lehrpersonen auch weiterhin bestimmen werden. Die entsprechende Literatur entwickelte sich seit der Reformation und verfügt über einige Konstanten wie etwa die Vorbildfunktion der Lehrerinnen und Lehrer. Im 19. Jahrhundert entstand eine Literatur, die «grosse Pädagogen» stilisiert hat und bis heute wirksam ist. Der Beitrag fragt am Ende, was Professionsmoral ohne eine solche Stilisierung ausmacht. | Abstract (English): | There has been a long history of moral expectations concerning the teaching profession. These expectations are at the heart of professional morals that are public and will not vanish in the future. The article shows how deeply rooted moral expectations are in the history of the teaching profession and how they have changed in the German-speaking world since the 19th century. According to the literature of that time, «morals» are to be found in «great educators» and thus undisputed role models such as Pestalozzi and others. In the final section, the article sketches a concept of professional morals that has no need of heroes. |
