(DIPF/ Orig.)
Abstract (English):The prevention of addiction is largely a psychologicalpaedagogical problem. School-children in danger of addiction cannot be helped by information describing the dangers of drug abuse. At school there are two possible approaches to the prevention of addiction which are complementary on the one hand, the school-children should experience learning as much as possible as something meaningful and relevant to life. A particularly good way of implementing this is to offer and carry out a project, e.g. the reclamation of a piece of land that has been allowed to run wild, or "Camping out for a week-end" or "Exploring a big city", etc. ( = addiction prophylaxis in the widest sense). On the other hand, deviant behaviour of individual pupils which might possibly lead to the development of addiction must be corrected (= addiction prophylaxis in the strict sense). Addiction prophylaxis is required in all types of schools. It must begin in elementary school. (DIPF/ Orig.)
