(DIPF/Orig.) |
Abstract (English): | The article deals with the problem of bridging the gap between addressed and actually present participants which is of special importance in the field of adult education. It is based on the theses that in a historical point of view and enforced by its non-compulsory character adult education has a continuous but rarely explicated affinity to ethnographical methods. This theses is pointed out by three historical examples which on the one hand represent three different types of ethnography (participant, teaching and organisational ethnography) and which on the other hand range between practice-oriented intention of change and theory-inspired interest of knowledge. Possibilities of a stronger emphasis on ethnographical methods are finally discussed by focussing on practical studies in education. (DIPF/Orig.) |
