Abstract (English):Research on teachers´ ability to cope with stress can be characterized through a variety of different concepts, definitions, and methods. Predominant are approaches in the tradition of transactional stress concepts as well as approaches which emphasize the different aspects of personality. Accordingly, the methods of investigation rely almost exclusively on teachers´ personal accounts. It is not theoretically specified which aspects of a teacher´s work are to be considered stress factors. Representatives of industrial science base their approach above all on the concept of stress and demand. In this article, the author presents an additional psychology of action- concept of stress which has been transferred to the instructional activities of teachers. The empirical results of the study show the reliability and validity of this concept of investigation which thus offers the opportunity to survey psychic stress via observers. The psychology of action-concept of stress provides a conceptional contribution to develop a better understanding of the teachers´ work as well as a theoretically well grounded approach to situations which may lead to psychological stress.
