Abstract (English):The article focuses on the topic of life-long learning from the perspective of an international level defined by different educational agents and interests. A systematization of internationally accepted key concepts of life-long learning and their inherent leitmotifs, e.g. agent interests, form the basis for a critical discussion of present-day influences - such as the increasing implementation of European or globally defined standards and benchmarks - on the discourse on life-long learning within the framework of the present structure of the international field of education.
