Abstract (English):Drawing on longitudinal data of the German LifE-Study spanning more than two decades (1981 to 2002) this analysis investigates the effects of student-perceived school climate on interest in politics and acceptance of minorities as indicators of political socialization. With respect to acceptance of minorities short- and long-term effects were significant. However, the small effect sizes and the non-effects on the interest in politics do not support overly optimistic expectations regarding the importance of the school climate for the political socialization process.
