Abstract (German):Zwei Fragen bilden den Mittelpunkt der vergleichenden Untersuchung zu Theorien von Simmel, Dewey und Litt: In welcher Beziehung stehen Mittel und Zweck? (DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):Two questions form the center of this comparative study on theories developed by Simmel, Dewey, and Litt: What is the relation between means and ends? In which form may these two concepts be used in pedagogical theory? Litt emphasizes the differentiation between means and ends and criticizes the pedagogical use of these terms. Simmel and Dewey stress the close connection between means and ends and employ the terms as important pedagogical categories. All three authors rely on the debate on the concepts of "means" and "ends" in order to repudiate mechanistic and reductionist trends in pedagogics. (DIPF/Orig.)
