(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):"Children's culture" is a term frequently used in research on childhood although it is by no means clearly defined. Research on childhood has so far followed two main perspectives: one structural, taking into account the external conditions of the process of growing up, the other auctorial, looking at the children as active participants in the process of their growing up. These two perspectives are normally used alternatively. The potential of the research construct "children's culture", thus the author's thesis, could reside in its creating a productive tension between the two perspectives. Then, the question of the structural conditions of childhood could be analyzed in combination with - and not separate from - the question of the scope for action and the practices of the young actors. Following a sketch of the research construct "children's culture", the author outlines the event of the children's awakening and inquires into the models and precursors of the awakened children. In a final part, the children's awakening is placed within a historical context and connected with a plea for the research construct "children's culture". (DIPF/Orig.)
