Abstract (English):The article explores the effects on socialisation of youth in segregated disadvantaged neighbourhoods. In the light of the literature and a qualitative study the special circumstances of socialisation are pointed out. Here, the symbolic devaluation of the environment of every day life, a rather conflictual integration into peer-groups, which demand special adaptations, and institutional interconnectedness are underlined. Then, two selective effects of the neighbourhood on socialisation are identified, which hit primarily adolescents with week family ties and with a low social status. Particular persons thereby get into a dynamic of social exclusion, and the adolescents are generally challenged to cope with the centripetal forces of the neighbourhood by switching between different strategies of action.
