Abstract (English):The disconnection of visited school type and aspired graduation is an educational policy act which is widely ignored by educational research. The article investigates whether this option is of any relevance for the school carrier planning of parents. Parents are important decision makers for the education of their kids at various points of their school career. In this study the ratio of aspiration for school type and graduation is analysed before and after the move from primary to secondary school. The results show that the option to get an upgraded certificate at a lower-level school type gains in importance for parents particularly after the school transition. Furthermore social origin appears to be very relevant. Higher status parents perceive the option of disconnection rather as an additional upgrading of certificates while for lower status parents the option of disconnection is already relevant in their successive planning before the school transition.
