Abstract (English):Against the background of the growing use of the mobile phone in the private sphere, the article examines the questions of how ubiquitous contactability is integrated by parents in their child education. The analyses of the empirical material show that the contactability is used to control the teenager outside the private sphere. The mobile phone enables a remote control. There are two explanations for this parental behaviour. On the one hand a lack of trust between the parents and their children. On the other hand the duty of the parents to be concerned about their children. Moreover the results indicate a reinforcement of a sex-specific behaviour, because in most of the cases mothers use the mobile phone for family affairs even so when they are at work. (DIPF/Orig.)
