(DIPF/Orig.) |
Abstract (English): | The American "1968" refers to a year of political crises, but even more so to the beginning of a cultural revolution which was to change "Middle America". In eontrast to Europe, the focus was not so much on radical theories but, rather, on medial Stagings and new forms of self-realization. This development was partly triggered by the expansion of and the internal changes in higher education. The "cultural revolution" was essentially also an "educational revolution". The topics, the motives, and the dispositions of the American "1968" were processed directly by the media. Everyday-culture was changed not so much by the "sixty-eighters", i. e. by the style of a generation, but rather by new forms (and norms) of the entertainment industry. (DIPF/Orig.) |
