Abstract (English):Socialization is designated as the process in the course of which a human being, with his or her biological and psychological disposition, becomes a socially competent person, endowed with the abilities and capacities for effective action within the larger society and the various segments of society, and dynamically maintains this status throughout the course of his or her life. Following this model, this paper argues against the proposal of Juergen Zinnecker, to replace the term "socialization" with the term "self socialization". Instead, the author favors the term "self organization" to reflect the growing amount of self reflective activities of individuals in modern society. Additionally, in sociological perspective, the author stresses the need for infrastructural and legal prerequisites in order to empower individuals to build up competence for self organization throughout the course of their life.
