Abstract (German): | Der Arbeitskreis QFM, der als informeller Zusammenschluss qualitativ forschender Musikpädagoginnen und -pädagogen gegründet und inzwischen in den „Arbeitskreis für musikpädagogische Forschung“ aufgenommen wurde, führte auf der Jahrestagung des AMPF ein methodologisches Forum zum Tagungsthema durch. Es wurde von Andreas Lehmann-Wermser und Anne Niessen moderiert und richtete sich in erster Linie an qualitativ Forschende, stand aber darüber hinaus allen interessierten Tagungsteilnehmerinnen und -teilnehmern offen. Abstract (English): | Founded as an informal special research interest group (SRIG) this group has been introduced to the AMPF as leading German research association. For the first time QFM held a workshop on methodological issues within the annual meeting of the AMPF. And while so far workshops were attended only by researchers dedicated to that paradigm this time it was open to all interested. Anne Niessen started out with an input on comparison as a key issue. Pointing at the potential and various ways of comparing in qualitative research she referred especially to its role within the Grounded Theory Methodology. A lively discussion started out from this presentation as many participants had experiences of their own using comparison as a permanent methodical step. The latter part of the workshop was dedicated to the interpretation of two short video sequences of classroom instrumental teaching in primary school. Contributions varied widely. And while there were too many participants as to conduct a workshop in a narrow sense the broad scope made it clear that comparing plays a key role in the handling of any data and that reflecting one’s own position is vital.
