Abstract (Englisch): | Based on the oberservation that actors are overstrained by the task to grasp the phenomenon of sustainable development in its complexity, the author will introduce four assumptions about the problem of implementing education for sustainable development at school. In connection with the last of these assumptions he will argue that a governance analytical perspective on education for sustainable development may be a mode to cope with that problem of overstrain. Subsequent to a short introduction into the idea of governance, the heuristically illustrative dimension of the governance perspective will be examplarily illustrated by a partial interpretation of a headmaster's statement. Finally, the author will address the issue how a governance analysis may not only help to put process descriptions across, but how it may also contribute to a good governance of education for sustainable development.
