Abstract (Englisch):Including digital tools and applications (apps) in lesson planning is a recent trend in current didactics of various subjects. On the one hand, those tools enhance the possibilities of teaching in various ways. They can increase the motivation of students and can contribute to the promotion of media competence as well as life-long learning. On the other hand, the incorporation of digital tools and apps in a classroom scenario can also be a challenge for teachers and students alike. They sometimes require a different approach to teaching; teachers need to broaden their knowledge about how to use a certain tool or app and how to incorporate it into a didactically meaningful scenario while making sure that those tools do not lead to the re-enforcement of teacher-centred (or rather ‘tool-centred’) lessons without considerable communication among students. Therefore, this article presents various best practice examples of digital tools, apps and ideas for digital teaching sequences mainly taken from English as a foreign language classes, but suitable for various subjects.
