| Abstract (German): | Nachdem Rassismus in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (EZ) hierzulande jahrzehntelang ein klassisches "Nicht-Thema" war (Ausnahme: Melber 1992), ist im letzten Jahrzehnt - nicht zuletzt durch eine Reihe von Studien [...] eine verstärkte Aufmerksamkeit für dieses Thema festzustellen. Diese beruht auf der These einer immer noch häufig anzutreffenden Kontinuität der westlichen Sichtweise auf die Gesellschaften und Menschen Afrikas, Asiens und Lateinamerikas zwischen der kolonialen Ära und jener der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Dieser These und der damit verknüpften Frage nach Rassismus in der EZ will der vorliegende Aufsatz nachgehen. Dabei kann es nicht um eine Auflistung und Anprangerung rassistischer Verhaltensweisen einzelner in der EZ tätiger Personen gehen, sondern um tiefer liegende Strukturen. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | After being for decades a classical "non-issue" (exception: Melber 1992) in development cooperation over here, during the last decade an increasing attention to racism can be detected. Not least due to a series of studies [...]. The attention is thanks to the thesis of a still often encountered consistency of a western perception of societies and people of Africa, Asia and Latin America that is observable in the colonial area as well as in development cooperation. This thesis and the associated question of racism in development cooperation will be pursued in this article. In doing so this doesn't aim on registration and denunciation of racist behavior of single persons working in development cooperation but on reflecting the deeper structures. (DIPF/Orig.) |
