(DIPF/Orig.)
Abstract (English):A look at the relationship between education and psychology serves to exemplify problems in education's relation to neighboring disciplines. On the part of psychology, educational psychology forms the connecting link. However, as the field essentially came into being as the application of psychological methods to problems in educational practice, it enjoyed, from an educational viewpoint, only moderate success. The subsequent State of crisis in the field of educational psychology led to a call for a stronger orientation towards educational theory. Resulting conflict between education and psychology erected barriers which have not been lowered. Instead, education developed its own knowledge of human nature which took an anti-scientific stance and served as a substitute for psychology. Education and psychology could not find a common ground for advancing educational theory. This shortcoming is shown to be caused significantly by both disciplines' naive epistemological approaches. To resolve the difficulty, it is proposed that the relation between education and psychology be placed upon a constructivistic basis. Through this, educational psychology could be founded as an interdisciplinary science, which would make possible a productive, dynamic relationship between the two fields. (DIPF/Orig.)
