| Abstract (German): | Das Buch führt in grundlegender Weise in die Fragestellungen und Gegenstände der Vergleichenden Erziehungswissenschaft ein. Es gibt eine systematische Orientierung, um aktuelle Diskussionen, Forschungsergebnisse und Reformprojekte, die sich mit international vergleichenden und interkulturellen Dimensionen von Erziehung und Bildung beschäftigen, einordnen zu können. Ausführlich wird auf Alltags- und Professionswissen sowie auf wissenschaftliche und metatheoretische Wissensbestände in dieser Disziplin eingegangen. Dabei werden auch Handlungsfelder angesprochen, für die die Vergleichende Erziehungswissenschaft Kompetenzen liefert, z.B. internationale und interkulturelle Erziehung, Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung, Globales Lernen und internationale Bildungskooperationen. | Abstract (English): | The book introduces readers to the foundations of research objects and questions of Comparative Education as a scientific discipline. It offers a systematic overall approach to contemporary discussions, research results and reform projects in all international and intercultural dimensions of education. Different levels of knowledge production, from every-day to professional knowledge, and from scientific to metatheoretical reasoning are distinguished and exemplified. This includes reflections on educational praxis fields for which Comparative Education sensitizes and offers competences, e.g., international and intercultural education, education for sustainable development, global learning, and international cooperation in education.
