| Abstract (German): | Der Aufsatz schließt an theoretische Überlegungen von Volker Lenhart an (Die Evolution erzieherischen Handelns, 1987) und führt diese weiter in Bezug sowohl auf die historische als auch auf die vermutete zukünftige Relevanz der modernen Pflichtschulsysteme. Unter Hinzunahme weiterer Theoriebausteine, insbesondere des Erziehungsbegriffs von Siegfried Bernfeld und der sozio-kulturellen Evolutionstheorie von Jürgen Habermas, entwickelt die Autorin ein eigenes zweistufiges evolutionäres Modell der Entstehungsgeschichte der Schule (a) von der menschheitsgeschichtlichen Erfindung der Schule als neue pädagogische Institution in den frühen Hochkulturen zur (b) Erfindung des allgemeinen, allgemeinbildenden Pflichtschulsystems in der Moderne, das derzeit weltweit verbreitet wird. | Abstract (English): | The essay resumes the theoretical reflections of Volker Lenhart (Die Evolution erzieherischen Handelns/ The evolution of educational practices, 1987) and takes these further in relation to the historical as well as the presumed future relevance of modern compulsory school systems. In referring to further theoretical building blocks, in particular Siegfried Bernfeld's concept of education and Jürgen Habermas' socio-cultural theory of evolution, the author develops her own two-stage model of the socio-cultural evolution of the school from (a) the invention of a formal school as a new educational institution in the ancient civilizations to (b) the invention of a general, compulsory education system in modern times which at present spreads around the world.
