| Abstract (German): | Für das Verständnis des Zusammenhangs, der zwischen sozialstrukturellen Entwicklungen und der Bildungsentwicklung insbesondere innerhalb der größeren Städte besteht, muss sich der Blick auf demographische Entwicklungen, auf Prozesse der sozialräumlichen Segregation und auf die Wirkungen des gegliederten Schulsystems richten. ... Abschließend [kann dann] danach gefragt werden, wie sich aktuell erkennbare Entwicklungen der Schulpolitik auf den beschriebenen Zusammenhang auswirken und ob es einen erkennbaren Veränderungsdruck gibt, der die Auswirkungen des Zusammenspiels von Demographie, städtischer Segregation und selektivem Schulsystem abzuschwächen oder gar aufzuheben geeignet erscheint. | Abstract (English): | In order to comprehend the interrelation between the development of the social structure and of the educational situation especially in large cities, demographic changes, the process of socio-spatial segregation and the effects of the three-tiered school system must be taken into consideration. This [is] done in three steps. Subsequently, the effect of current trends of education policy on the described conditions will be discussed. Finally, the article will reconsider whether there is a pressure to change, which might soften or even outweigh the effects of demography, urban segregation and selective school system.
