| Abstract (German): | Bildung ermöglicht Teilhabe. Es braucht aber Ressourcen, um überhaupt an Bildung teilnehmen zu können. Wie sind diese Ressourcen, insbesondere Mobilität und Breitbandverfügbarkeit, in der Steiermark regional verteilt? Der Autor hat in seiner Dissertation „Teilhabeatlas Steiermark“ in Form einer quantitativen Erhebung die 286 Gemeinden der Steiermark anhand verschiedener kommunaler Teilhabefaktoren miteinander verglichen: die Arbeitsmarktsituation, die Bevölkerungswanderung, die sozialen Handlungsräume, die Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie die Versorgung und Infrastruktur. Ergebnis ist: Vor allem in den ruralen Gebieten der Steiermark gibt es weniger Bildungsangebote, was Bildungsinteressierte mit Mobilität ausgleichen müssten. Allerdings ist die öffentliche Verkehrsanbindung in jenen Gemeinden, die wenige Weiterbildungsangebote haben, ebenfalls schlechter und ebenfalls die Breitbandverfügbarkeit, was auch die Teilnahme an Online Weiterbildungen in diesen Regionen erschwert. | Abstract (English): | Education makes participation possible. However, resources are needed to participate in education. How are these resources, especially mobility and broadband internet access, distributed throughout the region of Styria? In his dissertation “Teilhabeatlas Steiermark” (Styria Sharing/Participation Atlas), the author compared the 286 municipalities in Styria by conducting a quantitative survey focusing on different factors related to sharing/ participating in the municipality such as job market situation, population movement, spaces for social interaction, education and continuing education and infrastructure. The result: There are fewer educational offerings above all in the rural areas of Styria, and those interested in education must be more mobile. However, public transport connections in municipalities with fewer continuing education options are also poor, as is access to broadband internet, which makes participation in online continuing education programmes more difficult.
