| Abstract (German): | Die kognitiven Auswirkungen des Umgangs von Jugendlichen mit dem Computer sind relativ gut empirisch untersucht worden. Im Gegensatz dazu gibt es kaum Ergebnisse zu den sozialen und emotionalen Folgen der Computernutzung. Erste Ergebnisse einer Untersuchung deuten daraufhin, daß viele "Befürchtungen" in der Richtung, Computernutzung treibe Jugendliche in die Isolation, Phantasielosigkeit oder irreale Welten, wohl kaum aufrecht zu halten sind. Zumindest nach einer "mittelfristigen" Dauer von ein bis etwa vier Jahren Computernutzung, so die Ergebnisse einer Erhebung bei Berliner Schülern (600 im Alter von 16 Jahren), zeigten sich Effekte in dieser Richtung nicht. Im Gegenteil: Es gibt sogar Gegentendenzen in der Richtung, daß zumindest das Interesse an Politik und die Neigung zu realistischer Literatur mit dem Ausmaß der Computernutzung ansteigen. Insgesamt aber wiederholt sich der Aufweis der relativen Wirkungslosigkeit des Umgangs mit dem Computer im kognitiven Bereich nun auch im emotionalen oder soziokulturellen Bereich. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | There have been a lot of investigations on the cognitive effects of computer use. In contrast, there are hardly any results, the emotional, social or cultural effects of computer interaction being concerned. Provisional results of empirical study indicate that many expectations of that kind, interaction with computers probably push young people into social isolation, lack of fantasy or irreal universes, cannot be maintained any longer. At least interactions of one to about four years, according to our empirical investigation (600 students in Berlin, aged 16) do not seem to have clear effects in that direction. On the contrary: there seem to be slight tendencies towards aroused political interest and more inclination to "realistic“ literature in the group of computer users. As with the lack of effects in studies of cognitive variables we find the same proverty of infiuences computer interactions have on socio-cultural behaviors. (DIPF/Orig.) |
