| Abstract (English): | German political foundations have a long tradition of political activism including non-formal learning opportunities in public lectures and elucidating publications in Germany as well as internationally. Founded after the Second World War, their mission is the promotion of democracy and civic education. German political foundations have been active abroad for over half a century. But despite many years of experience in the field of political education across borders, these foundations have hardly been noticed in educational research. The article addresses the international dimensions of these organizations: how they operate across borders and what they offer in their educational dimensions. Their entanglement with the official German foreign policy and the political parties to which they are affiliated in Germany will also be discussed. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (German): | Deutsche politische Stiftungen haben eine lange Tradition politischen Aktivismus, einschließlich non-formalen Lernangeboten in öffentlichen Vorträgen und aufklärenden Publikationen in Deutschland und international. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gegründet, widmen sich diese Stiftungen der Förderung von Demokratie und politischer Bildung. Seit über einem halben Jahrhundert sind deutsche politische Stiftungen im Ausland aktiv. Doch trotz langjähriger Erfahrung im Bereich der politischen Bildung über Grenzen hinweg wurden diese Stiftungen in der Bildungsforschung kaum wahrgenommen. Der Artikel befasst sich mit den internationalen Dimensionen dieser Organisationen: wie sie grenzüberschreitend agieren und was sie in ihren Bildungsdimensionen anbieten. Diskutiert werden auch ihre Verflechtungen mit der offiziellen deutschen Außenpolitik und den politischen Parteien, denen sie in Deutschland angehören. (Autorin) |
