| Abstract (German): | Ein verkürzter und politisch opportuner Qualitätsbegriff könnte Entwicklungen, wie sie durch eine erhöhte Selbständigkeit der Einzelschule gerade angeregt worden sind, rasch wieder abwürgen. Dies könnte vermieden werden, wenn die Komplexität des Qualitätsbegriffes und die gemeinsame Verantwortung aller am Schulwesen Beteiligten bewußt gemacht werden. Dabei müßten pädagogische und bildungspolitische Bedenken ernst genommen und konstruktiv aufgehoben werden. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | Although the word “quality” is being used by everyone concerned with the improvement of education, its concept often remains undefined. It is applied according to the users'prescriptions. The term has become politicized with potentially injurious results for teachers and students. It is argued that educational improvement will only result when "quality" is conceived as a compound of many interlinked factors. Furthermore, “quality” will only be achieved when all parties concerned with education cooperate. This paper outlines the roles which each of these actors, especially teachers, can play in the achievement of "quality". (DIPF/Orig.) |
