| Abstract (German): | Themen dieser Broschüre sind unterschiedliche Facetten der sozialen Unterstützung und der Netzwerke älterer Migrantinnen und Migranten in Luxemburg. Sie fasst die Hauptergebnisse des Forschungsprojektes "Biographien und (trans)nationale soziale Unterstützungsnetzwerke älterer Migrant_innen in Luxemburg" zusammen, das durch die Universität Luxemburg zwischen 2013 und 2015 gefördert wurde. Die Studie basiert auf qualitativen Interviews mit 34 älteren Migrantinnen und Migranten die aus Portugal, Italien, Belgien, Deutschland und Frankreich nach ihrer Schulzeit eingewandert sind. In dieser Broschüre diskutieren die Autor*innen die Zusammensetzung der sozialen Netzwerke, den Austausch sozialer Unterstützung, auch über große Distanzen, ihre Perspektiven auf Pflegebedürftigkeit im Alter und die Erfahrungen im Kontext institutioneller Pflegearrangements. Die Broschüre bietet damit neue Einsichten für Professionelle, die mit älteren Migrantinnen und Migranten arbeiten und soziale Dienste weiterentwickeln, für sozialpolitisch Engagierte wie für am Themenfeld "Altern, Migration und soziale Unterstützung" Interessierte. | Abstract (English): | The topics of this brochure are different facets of social support and networks of older migrants in Luxembourg. It summarises the main findings of the research project ‘Biographies and (trans)national social support networks of older migrants in Luxembourg’, which was funded by the University of Luxembourg between 2013 and 2015. The study is based on qualitative interviews with 34 older migrants who immigrated from Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Germany and France after their school years. In this brochure, we discuss the composition of social networks, the exchange of social support, even over long distances, their perspectives on the need for care in old age and their experiences in the context of institutional care arrangements. The brochure thus offers new insights for professionals who work with older migrants and develop social services, for those involved in social policy and for those interested in the topic of ‘ageing, migration and social support’.
