| Abstract (German): | Die Autor*innen kommentieren in ihrem Text den 16. Kinder- und Jugendbericht (2020) zur Demokratiebildung aus Sicht demokratischer Kinder- und Jugendarbeit. Sie setzen sich mit dem Verhältnis von demokratischer und politischer Bildung auseinander und analysieren die Potenziale für Demokratiebildung in der Jugendverbandsarbeit, der Offenen Kinder- und Jugendarbeit sowie dem schulischen Ganztag. Damit die Menschenrechte nicht nur ein Wert bleiben, fordern sie, Kindern reale Mitentscheidungsrechte durch die dauerhafte Kodifizierung von demokratischen Rechten, Gremien und Verfahren in den Einrichtungen der Kinder- und Jugendarbeit zu garantieren. Auf diese Weise könne Demokratiebildung - wie vom 16. Kinder- und Jugendbericht gefordert - nicht zur als Wissensvermittlung, sondern als Struktur und Erfahrung realisiert werden. (DIPF/Orig.) |
| Abstract (English): | In their text, the authors comment on the 16th Children and Youth Report (2020) on democracy education from the perspective of democratic child and youth work. They examine the relationship between democratic and political education and analyze the potential for democracy education in youth association work, open child and youth work, and all-day schooling. To ensure that human rights do not remain merely a value they call for children to be guaranteed real co-decision rights through the permanent codification of democratic rights, committees, and procedures in child and youth work institutions. In this way, democracy education — as called for in the 16th Report on Children and Youth — can be realized not as the transfer of knowledge, but as a structure and experience. (DIPF/Orig.) |
