| Abstract (English): | The article comprises selected results of a study on the effect of computer use on young children, which was carried out in the framework of an extensive study at a Canadian elementary school. It was asked, how children construe meaning out of their experience with computers at school. The analysis of the qualitative date collected by observations and interviews indicates that an elementary school which ist well equipped with computers will change social interaction patterns and thereby change the formation of identity.
