| Abstract (German): | Der Aufsatz widmet sich dem Verhältnis von Demokratiebildung und pädagogischem Arrangieren. Dabei steht insbesondere die Frage im Mittelpunkt, inwiefern durch eine gezielte Vorbereitung der schulischen Umgebung die Herausbildung einer demokratischen Schulkultur gezielt unterstützt werden kann. In diesem Zusammenhang werden speziell die Ebenen der Schularchitektur und Schulraumgestaltung in den Blick genommen und - ausgehend von der aktuellen Diskussion zum Thema - vier Elemente einer demokratieförderlichen Vorbereitung schulischer Lernumgebungen vorgestellt und diskutiert: "Herstellung von Öffentlichkeit", "Bereitstellung von Versammlungsmöglichkeiten", "Förderung selbstbestimmten Lernens" sowie "Partizipation bei der Gestaltung der schulischen Umgebung". | Abstract (English): | The article focuses on the relationship between democratic education and pedagogical arrangements. In particular, it focuses on the question to what extent the development of a democratic school culture can be supported through purposeful preparation of the school environment. Within this context, particular attention is paid to the levels of school architecture and classroom design and – based on the current discussion on the topic – four elements of a democracy-promoting preparation of school learning environments are presented and discussed: ‘creating a public sphere’, ‘providing opportunities for assembly’, ‘promoting self-directed learning’ and ‘enabling participation in the design of the school environment’.
