| Abstract (German): | Sechs ausgewählte Autobiographien von Menschen, vier Männer und zwei Frauen, mit einer sichtbaren und angeborenen Körperbehinderung werden mit der Methode der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring auf Bewältigungsmechanismen hin analysiert. Alter, Nationalität und Schädigung zeigen ein breites Spektrum auf. Als zentrales Ergebnis kann formuliert werden, dass alle Autorinnen und Autoren ihre körperliche Schädigung über ihre gesamte Lebensspanne hin akzeptiert haben. Bewältigungsmechanismen beziehen sich insofern auf soziale Zuschreibungen, die sie in ihrem Lebensweg behindern und sie als Person stigmatisieren und diskriminieren. Pädagogische Wissenschaft muss sich vor diesem Hintergrund erneut die Frage stellen, welche Konsequenzen im Sinne einer „Förderung der Gesellschaft“ sie in ihrer inhaltlichen Ausrichtung daraus zu ziehen vermag. | Abstract (English): | Six selected autobiographies of people, four men and two women, who are visibly physically impaired from birth are analysed for mechanisms of coping by the qualitative content analysis according to Mayring. There is a wide range of age, nationality and handicap. The central event should be mentioned, that over their whole lifetime the authors have continuously accepted their own physical impairment. Mechanisms of coping depend on social attributions of people in case that their way of life is handicaped by these and this contributes to their personality stigmatised and discriminated. In respect of this background information, educational science has to wonder again, which consequences for its direction of content can be deduced by it within the meaning of “Support of Society”.
