Abstract (English):In contrast to general pedagogy, music education occasionally adopts Niklas Luhmann’s sociological Systems Theory, but does not explicate the relation between the two theoretical discourses. Hence the question to what extent a system theoretical point of view can enrich music educational theories remains still open. Therefore, the text below focusses on different adoptions of Luhmann’s theoretical concepts within the field of music education and analyses in what way the ‘systems theoretical view’ leads to further insights. It becomes evident that the evaluation of the relation between sociological Systems Theory and music education depends on the theoretical aspects that are emphasized. (DIPF/Orig.)
