Abstract (English):In the author’s opinion, European projects offer a privileged opportunity to move from a teacher-centred to a student-centred approach. Considering this background, this paper analyses the leadership and management of several virtual and blended-learning projects. Using the categories ‘intergovernmental’ and ‘integrated’ leadership, elements of collaboration are described and experiences in working with structured groups are presented. In addition, the new competences resulting from the new roles of teachers and students in European project work are presented. In order to improve the school system, “European Schools” are proposed which, thanks to a school time score, allow all their pupils to participate in a European project, value to the acquisition of intercultural capital and give due recognition to the work of teachers. Such schools see themselves as learning organisations and overcome their traditional self-image as a self-contained and self-contained system, often described as a sphere. (DIPF/Orig.)
