| Abstract (English): | This report of an empirical study points out (1) that the correlation between the assessment of the emotional expression of music and the actual emotional experience is astonishing low. Sometimes there is no statistical evidence for such a coherence. (2) The neuroticism score has no immediate effect on the experience of music. Instead, the experimental situation is seen as an important factor of influence on musical appreciation and experience. For future research it is suggested (a) to discriminate the emotions actually experienced while listening to music from the assessment of emotions expressed by the music itself, (b) to define, to control and to describe the situation in which the listener hears music more carefully and (c) to replace simple stimulus-response models by system theory models.
